MANAGED CYBER SECURITY SERVICES

Managed Breach and Attack Simulation Service

What is Breach and Attack Simulation?

Breach and Attack Simulation (BAS) is a form of simulation in which security controls are tested. However, to better understand this concept, it is first necessary to clarify the concept of security control.

A security control is a control that limits a threat actor's ability to achieve its objective or prevents a legitimate user from taking an action outside the bounds of their authorization. These can be devices, software, or policies, and each is critical to ensuring that the assets in your organization remain secure. This definition also includes tools such as anti-malware tools, firewalls, web filters, and email filters. Corporate policies, such as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) rules and rules that dictate which websites employees can view at work, are other examples.

Security controls are powerful tools, but their management can be complex and difficult. An enterprise anti-malware platform can have dozens of settings and configuration options. Getting something wrong can have consequences ranging from leaving the company open to attack to preventing users from doing their jobs.

Due to the complexity of these solutions and policies, mistakes are often made by teams, which can seriously undermine your security, even inadvertently. A mistake not only costs the business revenue, but also time and reputation. Because the cybersecurity landscape changes so rapidly, a small error in an application's code that caused no problems yesterday can become an easy gateway for attackers to exploit today.

So even if all your security controls are working flawlessly, there may be vulnerabilities in your products that a threat actor could use to their advantage. Even worse, a potential attack could go undetected for months, and when it is finally discovered, it may be too late to fix it.

Breach and Attack Simulation (BAS) answers the question of how to detect these vulnerabilities without disrupting the network or its components. BAS is a platform designed to simulate real threats to determine if your security controls can detect them.

Managed Breach and Attack Simulation Service

One of the main benefits of Breach and Attack Simulation platforms is that they enable continuous monitoring of whether security controls are configured correctly. Cyber attackers use new techniques and tactics every day, and it is importantcrucial to continuously measure the resilience of security controls against these new attacks. Sharing improvement suggestions, especially on the defense side of cybersecurity during the measurements, is critical for protection against possible cyberattacks.

Thanks to the Managed Breach and Attack Simulation Service we offer asat ADEO, we audit whether our customers' security controls are properly configured on a 24x7 basis and share our suggestions for improvement. In this way, we ensure that our customers' investments in security controls are returned with maximum efficiency, quickly identify the deficiencies in preventing cyber-attacks, and provide a roadmap for making the necessary improvements.
